Sketch Book
A change from jewellery - extracts from Toby's sketch book, and little painting, 'The insanity of trees' in watercolour, gel pens and pencils.
Toby its lovely to see pages from your setch book. I am very interested in the effect of the paint and the gel pens. I might have to get the children in one of my art lessons to try it.

Toby, I am SO pleased to see you keeping a sketch book - I started when I was a bit older than you, age 12, and have never stopped - if you keep it up, you will not only find your drawing skills improving daily, and development of ideas, but when you're an old wrinkly like me, it will be fascinating to go back and see what you used to do. Going to museums and looking at the decoration on antique ceramics and jewellery can be a great inspiration.

Lecture over...got a bit carried away!
The watercolour is gorgeous. The colours work perfectly together and I really like the different textures you created in your sketchbook.
