Daphne necklace

Daphne necklace from our 'Attrills' range has been bought by Nicola. Toby and I saw her wearing it yesterday and it looks beautiful, it was so exciting to see it being worn !! It is really important when designing jewellery that it works on a moving body, not just as a static piece.
Hopefully Makepiece will sell lots of our jewellery, they are having a Christmas 'do' for their customers and will also send out pieces by post to anyone who buys through us/our blog.

This is pretty, I can imagine it being worn by a bride ... ;)

If you don't mind me asking - what do you use make the holes in the pieces of ceramic you use?

Now that's a good idea, you should approach some bride mags and link up with wedding sites. You could make custom pieces for brides to match their weddings colours, dresses etc. My site will be finished soon, I will be happy to advertise you there!

Yes, it is a good idea. Trouble is, its Toby's thing really, he makes them, and he just doesnt have the time at the moment what with school. With the expensive silver and felt pieces he is going to work on another range for next year, and hopefully sell them once they are made. It is too much pressure, I think, for him to take commissions at the moment for 'Attrills' range, unless ordered a long time in advance. He is happy just making 'natural attrill' pieces, the fimo and non precious chain earings etc to order for now.
Thanks for the ideas though, and for linking us, which is somthing I must get round to doing soon, all the links here.

Gail, I answered you before but it seems to have disappeared somehow! anyway, was to tell you that ceramic pieces are drilled, but find it very difficult and expensive with lots of breakages, drill bits!

well of course, I forget how young he is and I'm guilty of the same with my son too! The important thing is that he enjoys what he is doing. Kamal is always telling me to leave him alone if I get carried away with ideas and I certainly wouldn't force him. Having said that it might be worth thinking about the bridal idea in the future, exactly because they would be ordered well in advance - brides prepare for their weddings at least 6 months to a year before the wedding date and you could make this clear on your website when they order, but I will butt out now! Best wishes, Karen

Hi Karen, please dont 'butt out' !! I love to get ideas from people, its always interesting even if we dont do them all. Weddings are a good idea, and we will keep it in mind for the future. Thanks.
Penny.
