Fabric sketch

I have no idea how to use a sewing machine, but since Toby was shown by his Aunt last week he has been doing what he calls 'sketches', trying things out, experimenting with stitches. I like his use of different materials, paper, netting, silk, felt, etc and the playing around with textures.

Who's your favourite character in the Archers? Who can't you stand? Ed and Fallon are my favourite younger people and Shula makes me very cross, she is such a prig.

I could see this as a cushion cover. Very stylish - imagine a white (or black) leather sofa with a few cushions like that. Perfect! :-)

I know what you mean about playing with different materials and textures. It makes it just so much more "touchy-feely".

Lorna, it kinda reminded me of the skirt you showed on your blog that Steve made you from denim trousers. This is tiny, and your skirt is life size, guess its the shape, but would be fun to have a real skirt decorated like this, or perhaps I am just an old hippy!

Niki, well it's Toby that does most of this and he was on school summer hols up to last week. He really enjoys making stuff, just a problem of time now that term has started. Penny.

That boy of yours is very talented Penny, he will go far. We will see top models wearing his pieces on catwalks in years to come I'm sure.
