jet necklace

This is a vintage jet necklace which i have recently repaired for a friend's sister. Each bead is individually knotted on so, it took almost 2 hours!!

First i photocopied the original necklace, so i could remember the layout, then i cut each bead off the necklace, and re~knotted them onto new cord.
toby.

I've got to learn how to knot beaded necklaces properly. My mom has an old beaded necklace that's more or less destroyed and I'd like to fix it.

Very nice work!

There is more than one type of jet - Whitby Jet (I think) and what they call French Jet. I was once given a French Jet necklace which unfortunately broke, I can't remember what I did with the beads but having seen this I wish I had kept it. Actually Toby now I think about it, you wouldn't even have been born when that necklace broke!
