Ex-Curtains

Hi everyone!
My mate Katrina's bead curtain fell apart, so, she gave me some of the beads off of it today at school.
Here they are!
THANKS KATRINA!
Toby.

Hemp Necklace

Here is another of Toby's commissioned pieces. A necklace made from hemp cord, which has been coloured with natural dye, plaited and then strung and knotted with a selection of buttons, some mother of pearl, provided by the client, and also Toby's vintage and new beads and buttons. There is a loop of hemp which hooks over the buttons so that the necklace can fit different sizes or hang at various lengths and it's finished off with pretty vintage crystals dangling down at the front.

Thank you Daisy Lupin!

What a wonderful suprise, look what came in the post today, this beautiful handmade bird decoration, along with the star and card, all from our blogging friend: http://catsinthekitchenflorainthegarden.blogspot.com/

Wings

I wonder if it's the wings that make them fly so far. Toby has just sold another pair of earrings to our blogging friend here http://smalltownrambling.blogspot.com/ It's the dragonflies again, this time to America, the last ones were to France. Only butterflies left now, I wonder where they will wing their way to.

Paper weight

This is a funny little piece Toby made by twisting wires and beads together and adding pins and nails etc to a base of polymer clay which was baked in the oven. Makes a strange yet attractive paper weight.

Mine, all MINE !!

Do you remember my bracelet, posted here in September? (take a look back). Well, it has had the most wonderful transformation, and I just LOVE it! I am sure some of you might think it is weird or strange, but what I adore is the combination of reclaimed chains and poppers, hooks and eyes, old washer, curtain rings etc with the pretty pearls. I am not the kind of person who wears 'pretty pretty' jewellery, and I love quirky and alternative things, so this is just right for me. It is wonderful to wear, looks even better on, lots of movement, I am SO pleased!

I was feeling fed up, and Toby said, 'come on, lets do your bracelet, what would you like?' I had the honour of sitting down, next to his work table, and having it made, on me, while I was wearing it! I was able to pick and choose from all his treasures and say where I wanted what, and Toby linked them all onto the bracelet for me. Of course he advised and added his ideas as well.

It has really made my day, what a lucky Mum I am, a big THANK YOU Toby!

Earrings again

Here is Toby's latest pair of earings, with sterling silver findings.

More bracelets!

More bracelets for sale! Toby is going to display these for sale in our window as well here online, fingers crossed he will have some sales before Christmas.

Bracelets for sale!

Here are 4 of Toby's bracelets, they are strung on beading elastic, so fit most sizes. For sale at £5 each plus p+p, just email us on: info@naturalattrill.co.uk and we will post the bracelet to you.

To make the beads, Toby starts off with blocks of clay in various colours which he blends together to make the shade he wants, then he rolls them into different sized balls and puts a hole through each with a skewer to make the bead. Next they are baked in the oven. When they have cooled he chooses combinations of colours, and strings them up, sometimes with additional glass beads or buttons as well.

These are just some of the LOVELY things Dons (http://craftyoldthing.blogspot.com/) sent to me. There are loads of great vintage fabric swatches, which i am planning to use to make a patchwork cushion with, some really nice, old glass and mother-of-pearl buttons, and a little card. Thank you Dons.
Loads of people have sent me lovely gifts (mainly buttons) and i want to say thank you to you all, i just haven't the time to use them all! (yet!)

My illustrations

Hi everyone,
I haven't made any jewellery this weekend so i thought i'd show you what i've been doing. The above pictures are of my R.S. (religious studies) school home work. The task we were set was to illustrate the Christian theory of how the universe was created. I chose to use the computer program Adobe Photoshop, i illustrated a cover, index and a page for each of the 7 days. It took me ages to do so i hope my computer illiterate teacher appreciates it! (what do you think?)

Yak Yak and dragonflies

Good day today, Toby had a sale - a pair of his earrings will be winging their way to France tomorrow, to one of our virtual friends, http://alisonashwell.blogspot.com/

Also, had a call from the lady at Yak Yak shop in Todmorden, http://www.yakyak.org.uk/ who stocks Natural Attrill polymer clay bead bracelets, confirming appointment to see Toby's new creations, on Friday after school. This heart on hemp necklace will be going there, unless someone buys it first! It is £12 plus p+p. email: info@naturalattrill.co.uk

Christmas sparkle stock

Toby now has his bracelets in another shop! it was suggested that he might make some earrings and bracelets using his handmade polymer clay beads, and here they are. The earrings are dangley, about 6cm long from the hook. The necklaces are strung on beading elastic so flexible, they are between 50cm - 60cm all around, so sit on the collar bone, or below, depending on how tall you are. To purchase, or commission pieces, please email: info@naturalattrill.co.uk
